The law of attraction remains a mystery to many people, in spite of the recent wave of movies and books that claim to be about this ancient principle.  This mystery surrounding  the law of attraction is what makes boatloads of money for the so-called ‘gurus’… and it can also keep you from reaching your own dreams. What follows are the three biggest secrets that law of attraction gurus don’t like to talk about, the truth behind those secrets, and methods you can use to apply these secrets in your own life to manifest your dreams and desires.

Law of Attraction Secret #1: The Law of Attraction is ‘hidden knowledge’ that only a select few understand and benefit from.

The truth: The principles behind the law of attraction have been around for a long, long, time. Far from being a secret, or being hidden, they have been written about and talked about for centuries.  The reality is that the majority of people don’t seek out the knowledge of how to improve themselves or to live a better life, and even fewer people will actually use that information if they seek it out.

If you want to make specific changes in your life the information on how to do so is out there for you to learn to be successful. But you have to go get it. You have to become a seeker.  Imagine you are sitting in your room wishing you could learn to become a piano player or a cabinet maker or a dancer.  Is the knowledge of how to become a piano player or a doctor in your closet? Can you run down to the corner store and pick some up some information on how to become an engineer? How about your family or friends?  Chances are, none of these options will serve you very well. You have to go out and find the information yourself. Is the knowledge hidden? No, it’s just not common knowledge.  The same is true of the law of attraction and of learning to improve your life. There is very little real hidden information in life, so decide what you need to learn and go learn it.

Law of Attraction Secret #2: You have to buy the newest book, or see the latest movie, or go to the hottest seminar in order to fully understand and learn how to use the law of attraction.

The truth: YOU are the teacher. This is probably the most important secret, and failing to understand this concept will guarantee you a life of struggle. Forget everything you’ve ever heard about learning from the best teachers and the best books. Teachers and books are a great resource, but will never make your life better. YOU make your life better by applying the concepts that you learn from teachers and books… by applying them EVERY day.

Too many people believe that just reading a book or seeing a movie will give them what they need to make changes in their life. When that doesn’t work they rush out and buy the next bestseller or latch onto the guru of the moment. The core principles behind the law of attraction, and in fact behind all success strategies, are simple. Book after book after book rehashes the same information and presents it in a slightly different manner, perhaps with a new twist. Instead of chasing after the latest fad you will get much better results if you commit yourself to one method and give it one hundred percent of your effort.

Law of Attraction Secret #3: You can learn to manifest by practicing until you get better.

The truth: There is no practice in life. There is no warm up. This is it. Everything you do, every thought you think, and every action you take has an effect upon your life. There really is no such thing as practice in life. In life, the curtain is always up, the audience is always there. Everything counts.

Eliminate the word practice from your vocabulary. You either do something or you don’t do it. If you do it, you do it with full focus and attention. That’s the only way to make changes in your life. The problem with trying to practice something as important as creating change, is that as long as you know it’s only practice you won’t be putting in the effort or energy required to make that change.

Practice implies something ‘unfinished’ or something less than serious. Is your life something less than serious?  No, your life is all you have, it’s the one and only game in town. You have to play it the best you can all the time if you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Forget practice and simply begin doing whatever it is that you want. That’s the only way you will see the results that you want.

Each of these so-called secrets can cause you pain and struggle on your path to success if you don’t understand them. The bottom line is that your success in life is dependant upon you seeking out the knowledge that you need, and then taking action on that knowledge each and every day.

Overheard recently, “Why is all this stuff coming into my life?
I don’t want any of this. And don’t tell me I brought it on
myself. Why would I do that? I don’t want any of this in my
life. I’d have to be crazy to want this.”

Have you ever heard this conversation? Maybe you’ve had a
similar dialogue with someone-perhaps with yourself. Sometimes
the things that come into our lives seem the exact opposite of
what we want. We feel powerless, and all the talk that we can
create whatever we want sounds like rubbish. Is it?

It can be frustrating and painful to face a string of
disappointing life circumstances. When you intend to create a
certain life, it feels like failure when something else results.
It’s so much easier to blame someone or something else; then, at
least, you’re not a failure-a victim, but not a failure.

Let’s go back to basics. The Law of Attraction states that like
attracts like. There are many popular sayings reinforcing the
Law of Attraction: birds of a feather flock together, what goes
around comes around, do unto others as you would have them do
unto you, the world is a mirror, and many more.

The attracting force is energy. Positive, high frequency energy
attracts more of the same; likewise, negative, lower frequency
energy attracts more energy that is negative. Emotion adds
intensity to this energy; the stronger the emotion, the stronger
the attraction. If I feel down in the dumps, depressed and blue,
despite wishing to feel better, and thinking I’d like to feel
better, the energy I give off will continue to attract more of
the same-depressing, negative life results.

We’ve all seen the Law of Attraction in action; we know the
world works this way because we can often see the results—in
others. We cannot see it as easily for ourselves. A universal
law doesn’t just work some times; it works all the time. Gravity
always works. Water always converts from ice to liquid to steam
at appropriate temperatures. Energy can neither be created nor
destroyed, only altered in form-always.

Then why does it seem the Law of Attraction fails to work when
you want to create a certain result in life? That’s the question
that baffles and frustrates. But it’s the wrong question. If you
assume the universal law isn’t working for you, then it isn’t a
universal law. Instead, you should assume the opposite-the Law
of Attraction is working perfectly. When you accept that the
combination of your thoughts and beliefs, emotions and feelings,
and subconscious intentions and yearnings are generating your
life results, you gain the power and perspective to change.

Once you accept that your life is the result of your thoughts,
beliefs, emotions, and actions, you are ready to take the 8
steps necessary to attract the life you do desire.

1. The first question to ask is this: do I really want different
life results? Be sensitive to how you feel about the area of
life you believe you want to change. Are there mixed feelings
there? Do you wish for greater career success while
simultaneously feeling terrified of making the changes required
to attain it? Is career success even your desire? Or is it a
success prescribed by others? The energy projected by a
combination of conflicting thinking and feeling will continue to
attract more of what you’re now experiencing. Clearly confirming
the life change as your true desire allows you to move on to the
next seven important steps.

2. Clarify what you want. Visualize the thing you desire
and-this is important-feel the resulting emotion. Emotion-a
state of being-is what we really desire. The things we think we
want are only a means to an end-the end being an emotion. We
think we want money, but we really want the emotion of security,
abundance, or some other emotion/state of being which money will
bring. We think we want a life partner, but what we really want
is to love and be loved, to be intimately connected to another.

3. Identify any negative emotions associated with what you want.
We often fear some aspect of what we believe we desire. This
fear will diminish our powers of attraction, probably resulting
in more of what we now have. Pursue these negative emotions,
what do they convey, what are you avoiding?

Do you desire to write a book, but fear it, too? The energy
projected from your fear will offset the positive energy
projected from your desire to complete the book-you’ll continue
to attract the inability to complete the book.

4. Identify what you don’t want and why. Visualize what you
don’t want, and note associated emotions. List these emotions.
Next to each negative emotion, ask yourself what belief you
might hold, or what experiences you might have had that cause
that emotion. A negative emotion is always associated with a
fundamental belief, perhaps buried deep in the subconscious.

Taking the book example again, assume you realize what you don’t
want is to invest a huge amount of time and energy writing a
book which few people read-a waste of your effort. As you think
about this, you feel unimportant, insignificant, as if you’ve
nothing to contribute. Insignificance is what you really fear,
and this is what is preventing you from achieving the completed
book.

A belief you hold is sponsoring this fear of insignificance. In
plain, harsh words, you might believe the following: “I have
nothing of value to offer the world.” Perhaps you subconsciously
hold this belief because of harsh criticism from parents,
teachers, or employers. As long as you hold this belief, you
will continue to attract life experiences directly or indirectly
supporting the belief.

5. Carefully examine each belief you identified in step 4.
Accept that each belief has been true for you up until now, but
need not be true in your future. Decide to discard the belief,
realizing that broad generalizations are oversimplifications.
Look for exceptions to the belief. Look for examples in your
life disproving the belief. Perhaps you find you enjoy writing,
and others enjoy reading what you write; therefore, you do have
something of significance to offer.

6. Convert each belief to a form that will help you. Start by
writing each belief identified in step 4 on a new line. Now
revise the belief to form a positive affirmation supporting
forward movement. For example, assume you’ve identified the
following belief as a source of your fear associated with
writing a book: I am not a brilliant writer, so a book that I
write may be laughable to others. This belief, if sustained,
will continue to sabotage your authoring desire.

Make the following change to turn this into a belief that helps
you: The book I write will be the best book I can write at this
time, and my satisfaction and reward will come from doing my
very best, rather than from the opinions of other people.

7. Transfer your list of modified beliefs-these are now
positive, supportive affirmations-to a clean sheet of paper.
Read each affirmation slowly and carefully twice each day,
morning and evening. As you read each affirmation-each new
belief-feel the emotion associated with it. Live within the
reality of each affirmation, savoring your feelings and
emotions.

8. Reinforce a positive orientation by calling forth other
positive emotions each day. Make a habit of allowing only
positive thoughts. A good way to do this is to think of three
things you are grateful for having in your life. Hold each in
your mind and feel the emotion of it. Do this upon waking each
morning and before going to sleep each evening.

When something negative happens-as it will-look carefully for a
positive aspect to hold in your mind. A traffic jam on your way
home may slow you down, but also gives you an opportunity to
relax and think of pleasant evening activities. A harsh critique
of your book will sting, but may provide valuable information.

Will you always attract the life you desire by following these
steps? I wish the answer were a resounding yes. For those who
are life masters-or close to mastery-the answer is a consistent
yes. Masters consciously create exactly what they desire.
Unfortunately, most of us fall short of mastery, so the best we
can do is strive for our life’s desires using this process,
accepting that we may fall short at times. The important thing
is to continue to work through these eight steps, recognizing
that today you are creating tomorrow, whether knowingly or not.

Perhaps you’ve heard of The Science of Getting Rich. The Science of Getting Rich is the classic book that Rhonda Byrne said helped inspire her to make her movie The Secret. This is a transformational book that you can download and use.

You should be excited about this because if you haven’t encountered the book before you are about to be transformed. And if you already know the book you’ll find an exciting audio version of it that you can listen to over and over and ramp up your understanding. You will pick up new insights each time you hear it.

Wallace Wattles was a peculiar little man who developed a mind set that allows attraction and creation of wealth. In his book he shares the formula. Wattles published The Science of Getting Rich in 1910 and that puts it in the public domain which means that you and I have free rights to use it.

Again it inspired The Secret. Rhonda Byrne was at a low point in her life when she was given a copy of the book. In it she learned the law of attraction and all the nueance involved in it’s use. She and her entire crew used the law while making the movie.

The Secret tells a lot about the Law of Attraction, but often the book has more detail than the movie and the same is true here. The Science of Getting Rich never uses the term: Law of Attraction, but it is one of the best textbooks on the subject available.

With the audio book you can listen over and over This will help you make the principals of the law of attraction a part of yourself. You will begin to act according to the principals — in a certain way. To leverage the power of Emotional Freedom Technique and the Universal Laws of Creation, it is essential to know and to understand the basic principles that govern our Universe.

The Universal Laws govern all of life without exception; from the glaciers to earthquakes, from spinning tops and spinning planets to newborns and world leaders, from elephants and arachnids to amoebas, to orchids, oranges and microorganisms.

As we study the laws that govern our Universe, we see certain empirical Truths. It is through the study of these Universal Principles and Truths that we master our creative abilities.

As we begin to work with these Universal Truths (studying, applying, practicing, and redirecting), we learn how it is that we live either in harmony or disharmony with our dreams and goals.

By choosing to become acutely aware of our harmonious or disharmonious actions and thoughts, we experience and observe first hand the Universal Laws playing out in our lives. We experience both the ‘negative’ and the ‘positive’.

Ultimately, we want to use this awareness to intentionally guide and direct our experience, focusing on the ‘ascending’ or ‘positive’ thoughts to attract the highest and best that life has to offer.

Now, with the support of Emotional Freedom Technique we can quickly and systematically neutralize the thoughts that oppose our goals and cause the postponement of our life’s dreams.

This means that with EFT we can more easily and naturally apply the Laws of the Universe!

When we become aware of our limiting beliefs we can use this awareness to realign our energy; to align our thoughts and beliefs with the Universal Laws.

Many a metaphysical student can attest to their personal ‘vibrational thesis’ (their theory behind which ball of thoughts, feelings and beliefs actually created their experience.)

As we continue, we become more and more adept at specifically recalling and tracing back the thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that literally foretold our experience.

It’s very important to understand that when we review our past experience it is not to repudiate or cause anxiety about our creative abilities, failings, or ‘mistakes’ but to discern which habitual or “beliefs by rote” may be causing us to attract an experience less than Heaven on Earth.

By assessing how and where our beliefs are either supporting or repelling our dreams, we can then intentionally alter our beliefs and thought patterns (with tools such as meditation, silence, prayer and EFT) to navigate towards our optimal future with greater effortlessness, ease and speed.
The Universal Laws of Creation:

The Universal Laws cannot be segmented or independently applied, they work consistently and inter-dependently of one another at all times.

Therefore, to ‘apply the law of attraction’ intentionally, one must also learn to apply the ‘law of detachment’, for example.

To summarize, the laws:

The Law of Attraction (aka the Law of Creation) says that whatever you put your attention upon expands.

We draw into our lives whatever we focus upon and emotionalize – be it positive or negative. The more we focus, the more attractive and stronger our vibration becomes, and the more quickly it manifests. To practice the Law of Attraction, simply put your attention and your positive emotions upon the essence of your dreams fulfilled, as if you already have them now!

The Law of Detachment (aka the Law of Allowing) says that in order to intentionally attract something, we must relinquish our attachment to it.

If we are attached, then we project negative emotions of fear, doubt, or craving, for example, which actually repels our dreams. To practice the Law of Detachment, be willing to trust in the Divine Order and Divine Timing. Choose to elevate your consciousness to a place of peaceful expectancy, a place of allowing; where you feel absolutely certain that all is well, right now.

The Law of Unlimited Potential (aka the Law of Pure Potentiality) says that we are unlimited children of a very prosperous, powerful, omnipotent, impartial, all-providing, all-sufficient, all-loving Father/Mother/God. Our Divine Inheritance is all that we desire: wealth, joy, love, peace, abundance, health, beauty, wisdom, wholeness, and harmony.

Practicing the Law of Unlimited Potential requires that we accept our divinity and realize that the Presence of the Divine is within. We do not have to earn the right to our dreams; we were born deserving of all that we desire.

When we accept our unlimited nature, we know that the Source is internal, not external. By expanding our consciousness of this Truth, that the Presence of God is within, we exalt our positive vibrational offering in an organic, all- encompassing and symbiotic manner.

The Law of Reciprocity (aka the Law of Giving) says that as you give you shall receive.

There is a failsafe method of getting everything you want; simply begin giving more of what you want away. To practice the law of reciprocity, begin taking action daily (giving of yourself towards your dreams) and begin tithing of your time, talent, and treasure to wherever you feel spiritually fed. If you aren’t sure where you feel spiritual nourishment, just start giving ‘it’ away everywhere you go. If you aren’t sure where or how to take action, just start
taking action is some way (any way) and you will be led. Give freely and with an open and unattached heart. Think of the Law of Reciprocity as priming the pump, the pump of your never-ending, all-providing well of prosperity, love, and success. Taking inspired action is the act of priming the pump and to receive we must be willing to give, both through action and generosity.

The Law of Cause and Effect: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

There is nothing in our Universe that exists independently. In other words, everything was created by something else and every new creation causes a reaction to the existing reality.

Thus, we cannot intentionally attract a new job, without causing the old job to change or cease to exist. We cannot intentionally attract a better relationship, without causing the current relationship (or situation) to change or cease to exist.

In studying this law, we become truly aware that the Universe is not random. There is no such thing as mere coincidence and in order to grow, change, and intentionally attract what we really want, we must be willing to go through the effects of change. When we immerse ourselves in the study and application of the laws of the Universe, we will notice certain ‘thoughts’ and ‘feelings’ that prevent us from mastering them.

For example, let’s say we want to attract a mate using the law of attraction. If we practice the law of attraction, we will actually visualize ourselves fully embracing, loving, adoring and being loved and adored by our ideal life partner.

Then, we would practice detachment by sending forth love and gratitude for already having them in our lives. We would then maintain our vision and our faith for as long as possible. Here’s where most of us go astray!

At some point, we may find ourselves looking around, wondering where our perfect man/woman is; sighing at night when they aren’t laying down with us, or anxious at a dinner where everyone else is ‘coupled’, for example. We may find ourselves longing (not allowing but craving) a mate.

When we observe our attention going to ‘he/she isn’t here yet’; and this attention triggers negative emotions such as fear, sadness, worry, anxiety, or disappointment then we are attached and not practicing the law of detachment or the law of unlimited potential.

NOW, as conscious creation students, we have the opportunity to USE this awareness to pivot our attention and our vibration; we have the opportunity to eliminate the limiting beliefs that prevent us from practicing the Law of Pure Potentiality (that we are unlimited and therefore would of course have nothing to fear or worry about) and practice the Law of Detachment (that we trust in the Divine Order and know that all is well now).

With EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) we can get in there, dig out those limiting beliefs of ‘he/she isn’t here yet’ and neutralize them. Negative thoughts and emotions are poisonous acid to our dreams, hopes, and ambitions. Think of EFT as the antidote to the poison. EFT pours an energetic alkaline solution on the acid that’s repelling our dreams. When we use EFT, we are alkalizing the poisonous thoughts and returning to a space of courage and neutrality.

When we obtain a consciousness of neutrality, we can then intentionally raise our positive emotions – our level of certainty and purely and intentionally attract outstanding success!
